Chief Carl Metzger (Ret.) has over thirty years of law enforcement leadership experience, starting as a patrol officer and rising through the ranks. He currently serves as Director of Safety and Security at the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts at UCF. Chief Metzger and his wife, Linda, are active in mental health awareness, education, and support within law enforcement and the broader community. He is a trainer for Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) and QPR Suicide Prevention. Chief Metzger is part of several national and state law enforcement leadership organizations and the Orange County CIT Advisory Council, the Florida Chamber of Commerce Leadership Cabinet on Safety, Health and Sustainability, and the Florida Assertive Community Treatment (FACT) Team Advisory Council. He is committed to strengthening collaboration between law enforcement, behavioral health systems, and families.
