Chris Urbine is an Assistant Professor and Director of Undergraduate Teacher Preparation Programs at Regis College in Weston, Massachusetts. Prior to joining Regis in 2023, he spent 14 years in PK-12 education as a classroom teacher, instructional coach, and curriculum coordinator. His experiences across elementary and secondary settings continue to inform his work preparing future educators and supporting schools in creating safe, supportive, and effective learning environments.
At Regis College, Chris teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in math, science, and special education and works with students during their field placements. His scholarship and professional work focus on teacher preparation, curriculum literacy, clinical practice, inquiry-based instruction, and program improvement. He regularly collaborates with PK-12 schools and educational organizations through professional development, curriculum initiatives, and partnership projects.
In addition, Chris currently serves as Co-Chair of the President’s Commission on School Safety for the Association of Teacher Educators, where he works alongside teacher educators, school leaders, and national stakeholders to examine the role of educator preparation programs in fostering safe and supportive school communities. He regularly presents at local, national, and international conferences and is committed to helping educators develop the knowledge, skills, and dispositions needed to support the academic, social, emotional, and physical well-being of all learners.
