Sheriff Adam Infante has served for over 26 years with the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office, where he was appointed Sheriff in 2022 and elected in 2024. He previously served as Chief Deputy and worked as a patrol deputy, detective, and narcotics investigator with both local and federal task forces. A graduate of the prestigious FBI National Academy’s 271st session—an honor achieved by less than 1% of law enforcement officers nationwide—Sheriff Infante brings experience and dedication to every role.
On January 4, 2024, he served as incident commander during the Perry High School active shooter event, one of the first school shootings in Iowa. His office drew national attention as he, his team, and partner agencies navigated the crisis with professionalism and resolve. An Iowa native and Iowa State University graduate, Sheriff Infante remains active in his community, church, and children’s sports.
