Ms. Tamela C. Dukes is the Technical Director for the National Security Agency, Cybersecurity Directorate in Texas.
As the Technical Director Ms. Dukes serves as the primary advisor to the NSAT Director of Cybersecurity and is responsible for the technical health of the organization. She champions innovation and engagement that supports the CSD mission of preventing and eradicating cyber threats.
Prior to her current role, Ms. Dukes served as the NCR FBI Cyber, Chief Operations Officer responsible for all things cyber for the NSA-FBI interagency partnership at the J. Edgar Hoover, FBI Headquarters.
Ms. Dukes previously served as the Chief for NSA Cybersecurity Service Provider (CSSP), Protect and Sustain Division; responsible for vulnerability analysis, assessment, and management, malware protection; data analytic support; and cybersecurity governance/oversight of the entire NSA/CSS Global Cryptologic Enterprise via 24×7 CSSP Watch support.
Ms. Dukes began her D.D career in 2011 with the Defense Intelligence Agency’s Chief Information Office, Cyber organization in a dual role, as a Cyber Lead Engineer and Chief Cyber Program Manager; responsible for the development and global deployment of enterprise cybersecurity network and endpoint tools: Host Base Security System- Intrusion Prevention Systems and Intrusion Detective Systems, Security Information and Event Management, and forensic tools, on the Joint Worldwide Information Communication System network, Secret Internet Protocol Router Network, and Nonclassified Internet Protocol Router Network.
Prior to beginning her DoD career, Ms. Dukes served approximately 18 years with International Business Machines (IBM). Her career spanned Leadership, Program Management, and Engineering Information Technology roles. She led and teamed in developing desktop, laptop/mobile, workstation, server/blade products, as well as, partnered with industry and academia to develop joint products, service processes, and an IBM certification ecosystem.
Ms. Dukes is an alumni of Johns Hopkins University, George Washington University, Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville and The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering and Master’s Certificates in Program Management and Systems Engineering.
