Jeffrey Gale
Director, Office of School Preparedness and Emergency Planning
Mr. Gale served with the New Jersey State Police for 26 years, retiring in 2011 at the rank of Captain. During his career he has provided security for government officials, including presidents and governors; critical infrastructure sites; and large venues/events, including professional and collegiate sporting events and concerts.
Mr. Gale now works for the NJ Department of Education, Office of School Preparedness and Emergency Planning. He provides direct support to New Jersey’s schools to establish safe and secure school environments and served as support staff to the Governor’s School Security Task Force. He provides training for school administrators and staff to prevent/counter school violence, and to prepare for emergencies. During his tenure with the NJ DOE, Mr. Gale has conducted Unannounced Active Shooter Drills and physical security assessments at approximately 200 NJ K-12 schools and has frequently been requested to speak on school security issues at professional conferences and training sessions across the state.
