Rusty Jacks retired in 2022 after 29 years of law enforcement service. At the time of his retirement, Rusty was an Assistant Chief with the Tyler, Texas Police Department, located in North-East Texas. Rusty has been adjunct instructor for the ALERRT program since 2006 and has had the honor of teaching active shooter response across the US. After retiring from law enforcement, Rusty took a full-time job as a regional coordinator for the ALERRT program. He currently coordinates active attack training for the south-eastern region of Texas.
