Chad’s career in education spans over two decades, with experiences as a teacher, principal, higher education professional, and superintendent. Throughout his career, Chad has been deeply committed to fostering environments where students can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. His passion for education is rooted in his genuine love for students and a steadfast belief in their potential. As a teacher and principal, Chad honed his skills in student development, school leadership, and fostering a positive school culture. His journey eventually led him to the role of superintendent, where he had the privilege of overseeing the growth and progress of an entire district.
His tenure took a profound turn following a traumatic school shooting at one of his schools. This experience profoundly shaped Chad’s perspective on school safety. In response to the tragedy, he
committed himself to a deep dive into the complexities of school security, working closely with his district and community. In 2023 the schools within Jefferson School District were recognized nationally with a School Safety and Student Wellness award.
Chad has shared his experience and lessons learned at state and national events, in hopes of helping other school leaders prevent violence and prepare their schools and communities for tragedy.
