Darren began his law enforcement career following his honorable service in the United States Marine Corps. He has 37 years of law enforcement experience working and supervising in a variety of divisions, which include patrol, tactical operations, community policing, training, narcotics, and homicide.
He became the Vice Chancellor of School Safety, overseeing the Office of Safe Schools for the Florida Department of Education. The Office of Safe Schools is responsible for statewide school safety compliance, threat management, data collection, training, and grants management. In this capacity, Darren regularly speaks on school safety best practices at national conferences and meetings with state school safety leaders around the country.

Specifically, it will take the attendee from the events at MSD to this year's school safety bill, with discussion on campus safety, compliance, threat management, and funding.
