Kim Punzi-Elabiary currently serves as the Director of Behavioral Threat Management, where she leads efforts to ensure the safety and well-being of Broward County Public Schools. With extensive experience in threat assessment, she is dedicated to developing proactive strategies that identify, assess, and mitigate risks while fostering a secure and supportive environment. In July 2024, she was appointed by the Superintendent of Broward County Public Schools to the position of District Threat Management Coordinator. Previously, Kim managed the Behavioral Threat Assessment Department, where she oversaw the implementation of comprehensive threat evaluation processes, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure effective interventions.
Before transitioning to threat management, Kim served as an ESE Compliance Program Specialist and a Professional Development Specialist, where she worked to support exceptional student education by ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, providing guidance to staff, and advocating for students’ needs. She started her career with Broward Schools as an educator in 2003 with a desire to work with struggling learners.
With a strong background in behavioral analysis, risk management, and educational support, Kim is passionate about promoting a culture of safety and care in every role she undertakes. Through the threat management process, she continues to ensure that students needs are being met in a secure environment and continues to support schools by guiding them through the process.
