I am a lieutenant with the Minnesota State Patrol who brings over two decades of commitment to traffic safety. My entire professional career has been dedicated to transportation safety related issues.
I am currently the State Director of Pupil Transportation for Minnesota. My role is to oversee all department activities related to school bus safety. These responsibilities include; managing the annual school bus inspection program, assisting in the development, interpretation and implementation of laws and regulations, and conducting audits to determine compliance with school bus driver qualifications. I have developed a positive working relationship with the school bus industry both in Minnesota and nationally.
I am a member of the National Association of State Directors of Pupil Transportation Services, (NASDPTS). I have served as the Central States Regional Director for the association and as a voting member of the Surface Transportation Security Advisory Committee (STSAC) to TSA since 2019.
With my experience and dedication, I have been tasked with chairing the School Bus Inspection Writing Committee for the National Congress on School Transportation.
In my role with the State Patrol, I am also responsible for overseeing the motor coach and passenger carrying vehicle inspection program. I have also been involved with the state’s light passenger rail oversight program.
Throughout these positions I have experience in drafting and proposing legislative/policy changes and well as interpreting exiting regulations and policies. I understand the importance of the public/private sector relationships needed to elicit positive change.
