Dr. Jo Ann Fey is the 20th Superintendent of Schools for Killeen Independent School District.
Before transitioning to Killeen ISD, she was the Superintendent of Midlothian ISD. She grew up in San Antonio and attended Southwest High School. It was there she met her high school sweetheart, Bill, whom she now calls her husband. Dr. Fey was the first in her family to attend and graduate from college attending SMU on an athletic scholarship.
Following graduation, Bill joined the military where they were stationed at Fort Stewart, Korea and right here in Central Texas at Fort Cavazos. During her tenure Dr. Fey spent seven years teaching and coaching before transitioning to administration.
Together they have three children, their youngest is a senior at Chaparral High School.
Dr. Fey is committed to understanding the roles and responsibilities involved with creating educational opportunities and strong support staff for educators.

KILLEEN ISD - Embracing A Multi-Tiered System of Support for School Safety
Killeen ISD utilizes a multi-tiered system of support (MTSS) to approach school safety. This approach includes recruiting and maintaining "top level" safety and mental health personnel, implementing positive behavior programs, focusing on facility safety and audits, and embracing partnerships and practices for emergency response coordination and threat assessments.To give an insight into KISD from a safety and security viewpoint; To share ideas/perspectives regarding safety initiatives;

- Utilizing data, including longitudinal feedback from surveys, to improve school safety programs and resources in the K-12 ecosystem.
- Coordinating a compliant, cohesive, and responsive School Safety and Security Committee.
- Inspecting what you are expecting; conducting and documenting internal intruder detection, threat assessments, and access control audits.
- Creating positive school climates and the key components of safe and supportive schools.
